University campus

Universities and residence halls are places for cultural and knowledge exchange that also promote sustainable development. ACCIONA is a benchmark in the construction and management of universities and residence halls.

The company also provides services to educational centers, from the management of municipal kindergartens and music, language, and handicraft schools, to school transport and morning class and support teachers.

ACCIONA has five residence halls in Spain and a university project. The concessions amount to 50,000 m2 between the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (Mexico) and the extension of the Law Faculty of the University of Barcelona (Spain).

Ecosystem regeneration and restoration

The regeneration of the natural environment is essential to mitigate the impacts of climate change and to maintain the ecological balance. ACCIONA experts design ecosystem restoration solutions and projects to preserve natural environments, coastlines, and linear infrastructures.

These projects require environmental quality and sustainability policies, and all services are provided in line with such criteria, including the use of electric machinery and recycling of materials to minimize CO₂ emissions.

FEATURED PROJECT 2022

Life and work of Frida Kahlo

In 2022, ACCIONA Culture organized the immersive exhibition Life and Work of Frida Kahlo, where technology is combined with the public’s multisensory experience, to bring them closer to the life of the Mexican artist.

More than 80,000 people visited the Madrid exhibition, even though it also opened in the Netherlands and Puerto Rico and is scheduled to arrive in Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and Australia in 2023.

The exhibition has generated a highly positive social and environmental impact in Madrid. In addition to being a carbon neutral exhibition, trees have been planted in both Mexico and Madrid to emphasize its environmental benefit. The entire procedure has been endorsed by the UNE EN ISO 20121:2013 certification, which ensures the implementation of extremely rigorous sustainability criteria in events.
